K-5 Physical Education Teacher

Part-Time

Temporary Non-Exempt

Reports To: Head of School

Work Schedule

Monday-Thursday 12:00-2:00

Friday 11:00-2:00

Salary: $33.36

Summary of Position:

The Children's School follows a constructivist model of education for Toddler through 5th grade programs The K-5 P.E. teacher works closely with Head and support teachers and Administrative Team to plan and implement Physical Education curriculum across kindergarten-5th grade programs and supports Lunch hour recess periods.

Representative Duties

The K-5 PE Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate P.E, curriculum to all K-5 students and supports recess periods.

Uses social emotional curriculum to support, supervise, and ensure the safety and well-being of children in the program.

Maintains active and open communication with Head classroom teachers of the children in need of additional support and with the other members of the Children's School staff.

Requirements

Three or more years recent successful teaching experience preferred

BA degree in education or related field preferred

California State Multiple Subjects Credential preferred

Knowledge of a Constructivist, Experiential model of education

Commit to an inclusive, culturally sustaining education model

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Ability to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment

Position is contingent upon fingerprinting/background check clearance and tuberculosis clearance.
